A neuroscientist in the U.K., Dr. Jolij, did a study of the songs that are proven to make you most happy. Meet neuromusicology - the study of how music impacts the brain.

Did you know music activates every known part of the brain?

Listening to and playing music can make you smarter, happier, healthier and more productive at all stages of life.

I know this to be true because the exponential increase of dance parties in my home inspired by my twinkle-toed toddler on a daily basis. Her current favorite is "Get on the Good Foot" by James Brown. You can't help but grin, get your dance on and feel your mood shift skyward.

According to Dr. Jolij, there is a formula that combines lyrics, tempo, and key to calculate the strength of a song’s feel-good nature.
